Feed Phosphates

Monocalcium Phosphate (MCP) - Ca(H2PO4)2 defluorinated feed phosphate is used as a food supplement for livestock and poultry. Monocalcium phosphate acts as a restorative for mineral deficiencies (phosphorous and calcium) in a diet. It facilitates the metabolism of livestock and poultry, strengthening their bone structure, immune and reproductive systems.

General information about MCP producer

The Balakovo branch of Apatit is the only producer of MCP in Russia and the largest manufacturer of MCP in Europe.

Apatite concentrate used in the process of production of MCP is mined by PhosAgro at the Kirovsk branch of Apatit. The company extracts one of the purest natural materials in the world, which is of magmatic origin and is characterised by its high nutrient content and very low levels of heavy metals. The use of phosphate rock from apatite mined at the Khibiny deposits contributes to the production of the highest-quality products.

PhosAgro’s MCP production process is certified for compliance with the following standards:

StandardShort description
GMP+ B2International Feed Safety Standards
HACCPInternationally recognized system for reducing the risk of safety hazards in food
ISO 9001:2015International standard related to quality management systems
ISO 14001:2015International standard related to environmental management

GMP+  The Balakovo branch of Apatit is the first company in Russia certified under the GMP+ scheme. Its MCP production has been awarded with GMP+ B2.

In June 2017 the Balakovo branch of Apatit became the first company in Russia to pass an unannounced audit of GMP +. This means that companies certified under the QS scheme (Quality scheme for safe food) may now use products from the Balakovo branch of Apatit.

General information about MCP

As a rule, livestock and poultry receive less phosphorus than they need.

Studies have shown that phosphorus from monocalcium phosphate is digested by animals and poultry better than from other feed phosphates. In addition, feed phosphate provides better saturation of the body with calcium. Monocalcium phosphate, added to feed mixtures, provides for an increase in the live weight of animals and poultry by 5%-12%. This is much more effective than similar additives used in agriculture.

The use of nutrition, which includes monocalcium phosphate, provides greater energy value, biologic and economic benefits.
