Enhance the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, complemented by multi-stakeholder partnerships that mobilise and share knowledge, expertise, technology and financial resources, to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in all countries, in particular developing countries.
Measures being taken
In partnership with UNESCO and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), PhosAgro implements the Green Chemistry for Life project, which is aimed at supporting innovative research projects by young scientists in compliance with the 12 principles of green chemistry.
In November 2018, PhosAgro became an active member of the UN Global Compact. On 6 February 2019, the Group joined the UN Global Compact Local Network for Russia. Starting from January 2019, the Company is taking part in two action platforms for the promotion of responsible entrepreneurship and the resolution of problems arising from the implementation of global goals such as SDG Reporting and Health is Everyone's Business. In September 2019, the Company was awarded LEAD status, which recognises the most active participants of the UN Global Compact that are making the most significant contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Implemented in partnership with other fertilizer producers, the Safer Phosphates programme is designed to share expertise and solve problems arising from contaminants such as heavy metals that are present in phosphate fertilizers.
As an active participant of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), PhosAgro realises joint goals such as integrating innovative agricultural technologies, fostering efficient agriculture in order to improve agricultural productivity throughout the world, facilitating the advancement of food security, and implementing measures to protect forests and soils and to ensure the non-degradation of air and water quality. PhosAgro’s CEO is the Vice President of the IFA.
